“This bill refocuses Medicaid on mothers, children, people with disabilities, and the elderly – not illegal immigrants and capable adults who choose not to work.“
– Congresswoman Lisa McClain
“I carry in my heart the sufferings of the beloved Ukrainian people. Let everything possible be done to achieve a true, just and lasting peace as soon as possible. May all the prisoners be freed and may the children return to their families.”
– Pope Leo XIV
“Ukraine-Russia update: The Russians have lost 900,000 military members either killed or wounded. This is a war of choice by Putin who wants Ukraine to totally capitulate. The only way this war ends is if Putin stops the war and withdraws from Ukraine. All pressure should be on Putin.”
– Congressman Don Bacon (R-NE)
“Russia has switched to a war economy, and it can’t switch back.“
– European Union Defense Commissioner Andrius Kubilius
“Nobody with open eyes can any longer doubt that the danger to personal freedom comes chiefly from the left.”
– Friedrich Hayek
“The good news here is, we did put 235 judges, progressive judges, judges not under the control of Trump last year on the bench and they are ruling against Trump, time after time, after time.”
– Democrat Senate Leader, Senator Chuck Schumer
“As a rule of thumb, Congressional legislation that is bipartisan is usually twice as bad as legislation that is partisan.”
– Thomas Sowell
“Unfortunately, amongst Democrats and Liberals ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ is real.”
– Saul Anuzis, President of the American Association of Senior Citizens
The Politics of Medicare/Medicaid: There is so much political posturing and misinformation coming out from liberals and Democrats who are trying to deceive voters, it’s unbelievable.
P.S. The budget was actually INCREASED by 3%.
Please take a look at what is actually in the bill here:
Putin Plays Trump and EU: Putin rejects his own peace proposal, then Trump and Europe reject their own deadlines to punish him for it. It seems Putin is playing chess, and the U.S. and EU are playing checkers.
Putin is a lying war criminal who isn’t interested in peace, because his domestic political problems are even bigger…and war is a useful distraction for despots.
Putin’s Russia vs Ukraine: Putin wages war because he wants to rebuild some fanaticized empire and, maybe just as importantly, squelch domestic political problems.
If Putin finds peace or is forced to accept peace, he then has to deal with a domestic economy that has been retooled to a war-based economy. He will have to deal with the mothers and families of hundreds of thousands of dead, not to mention wounded and disabled soldiers. He will have to rebuild an infrastructure that has been demonstrably destroyed during the war… all causing him significant political problems at home.
The calculus on this war for Putin is changing, and we all need to realize what that means. A sustained peace without a show of strength from the West is probably not in the cards. The hand he holds today is MUCH different than what he held a few short months ago.
Putin continues to try and play Trump. Trump is bending over backward to give him room to save face… but he will only go so far. Putin will overplay his cards, and then he will be forced to fold.
Unfortunately, peace through strength is the only solution… and it’s NATO, all of NATO, that had to demonstrate their commitment and strength to force Russia into a peaceful mode.
A Tale of Two Immigration Policies: How ironic. The same Democrats that are against letting 49 South African refugees into America were totally fine with some 20 million undocumented, unvaccinated, without background check illegal immigrants invading America.
Anyone remember back when a busload of illegals got shipped to Martha’s Vineyard and they called the National Guard and had them all removed with absolutely no due process. I didn’t hear a single Democrat or liberal judge protest?!?
That’s how Democrats do it, in case anyone wanted to go down memory lane.
A Faith Under Siege: This is a powerful documentary exposing Russia’s brutal crackdown on faith in occupied Ukraine.
A Faith Under Siege dives into the harrowing reality facing Ukraine’s Christian communities under Russian occupation. As Russia seeks to absorb Ukraine’s population to restore its former empire status, Evangelical and Protestant believers—viewed as apostates by the Kremlin-aligned Russian Orthodox Church—are singled out for persecution. Churches are destroyed or seized, pastors tortured or killed, and families torn apart through abductions, all in an effort to erase dissenting faiths. Yet even amid these horrors—extrajudicial killings, secret worship services, and tens of thousands of children taken to militarized Russian “summer camps”—a steadfast unity emerges. Christians across denominations stand shoulder to shoulder, aided by international allies who refuse to let their plight go unseen.

Trump’s downsizing isn’t cruelty — it’s the last hope for solvency

The DC elite face layoffs and scream injustice while 60% of Americans can barely get by. Congress needs to codify Trump’s cuts.
For more than a century, one trend has defined American politics: the relentless expansion of federal power. The Founders built a limited framework of law and order to protect liberty and promote a flourishing society. That framework has morphed into a sprawling leviathan that reaches into nearly every aspect of American life. Each crisis, often of the government’s own making, brings the same answer: more bureaucracy, more spending, more control.
Generations of Americans have paid the price to support a self-described “problem-solving” class that fails to solve anything — and demands even more to fix the failures it created. Under President Trump, however, the country finally has a leader who sees bureaucracy not as the solution but as the root of the problem.
In the 1930s, Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal exploited economic collapse to justify a sweeping expansion of federal agencies. Lawmakers used the crisis to transform the relationship between government and the free market.
By the 1960s, Lyndon B. Johnson’s Great Society pushed federal overreach farther, binding millions of Americans to Washington through government handouts. Decades later, after 9/11, George W. Bush signed the Patriot Act, giving federal agencies unprecedented access to Americans’ private lives — all in the name of national security.
Today, the federal government reaches into your doctor’s office, your child’s classroom, and even your kitchen appliances — often without a single vote in Congress.
This unchecked sprawl, always justified by its own failures, has saddled taxpayers with $37 trillion in debt, a crushing weight that future generations must carry.
Enter Donald Trump.
EB-5 investor program and Gold Card: America’s economic secret weapons

How foreign investment creates thousands of jobs without taxpayer dollars
California’s largest master-planned community, McClellan Park, is situated on the outskirts of Sacramento. It has homes, offices, restaurants, a hotel and even a 2-mile-long runway that serves jets. Thirty years ago, the location was starkly different. It was a recently shuttered Air Force base, which triggered the loss of 11,600 jobs.
Fundamental to this remarkable transformation was a federal program that incentivized investment and stimulated job creation throughout the United States. That program, the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program, still exists. Amid economic and financial market uncertainty, Republicans and Democrats should come together to support the program’s expansion.
EB-5 was created by Congress in 1990 to attract capital from foreign investors. It has more than met that objective, with a track record of attracting billions of dollars in foreign direct investment and creating millions of U.S. jobs, all at no cost to American taxpayers. The program helps reduce the federal deficit.
In exchange for bringing capital to the United States — a minimum of roughly $1 million and less if the investment is in a rural or high-unemployment area — and creating at least 10 jobs, EB-5 investors can get one of the most prized commodities anywhere in the world: an American green card.
Customs and Border Protection slashes catch-and-release by 99.99%

Just 5 illegal immigrants caught and released at border in April, says Homeland Security
President Trump’s border success appears to have plateaued, with the Border Patrol reporting encounters of illegal immigrants at the southern border rose slightly last month.
Agents nabbed 8,383 people sneaking across, up from about 7,200 in March, which was a record low. The numbers are still down 93% compared to the same time last year under President Joseph R. Biden.
Even more stunning is the turnaround in catch-and-release, which has dropped 99.99%
The Department of Homeland Security said just five illegal immigrants were granted release into the U.S., in order to take part in critical court cases. That’s down from 68,000 catch-and-releases at the southern border in April 2024, the department said.
“For the first time in years, more agents are back in the field — patrolling territories that CBP didn’t have the bandwidth or manpower to oversee just six months ago,” said Pete Flores, acting commissioner of Customs and Border Protection. “But thanks to this administration’s dramatic shift in security posture at our border, we are now seeing operational control becoming a reality — and it’s only just beginning.”
DHS Investigates Los Angeles For Allegedly Providing Federal Benefits To Illegal Immigrants

The Department of Homeland Security has issued a subpoena to Los Angeles County for records tied to a state-run assistance program, which the department alleges might have been used to unlawfully provide federal benefits to illegal immigrants.
Homeland Security Investigations served a Title 8 subpoena to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services, which administers California’s Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants.
While the cash assistance program is a state-funded initiative, the federal subpoena seeks records from January 2021 to the present to determine whether any recipients received Supplemental Security Income benefits but who were ineligible, based on their immigration status.
The requested documents include applications, immigration status records, proof of Supplemental Security Income ineligibility, and supporting affidavits, DHS said in an announcement.
“Radical left politicians in California prioritize illegal aliens over our own citizens, including by giving illegal aliens access to cash benefits,” said Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
“If you are an illegal immigrant, you should leave now. The gravy train is over. While this subpoena focuses only on Los Angeles County—it is just the beginning.”
The Crisis of Radical District Judges

The fight over whether unelected federal district court judges should be able to unilaterally halt an elected President of the United States’ agenda has reached a critical point.
For the last three months, the American people’s effort to profoundly change the Washington establishment has been blocked by radical district judges, who have wildly exceeded their authority. In the first 100 days of President Donald J. Trump’s second administration, lower court judges have issued 37 nationwide injunctions against various administration actions. That is more than one every three days.
This is not an issue of judges against President Trump. It is an issue of judges against the American people.
In the 2024 election, the American people elected a Republican House, Senate, and President. President Trump carried all seven swing states. He received 77.3 million votes – 2.3 million more than Vice President Kamala Harris.
There are 677 district judges on the federal bench. If any of them can issue nationwide injunctions to override the decisions of the elected president, we are in a real crisis. Remember, these judges have never been elected by the American people. They face no consequence if their rulings result in ruined lives or wasted taxpayer dollars.
Not all of them are overreaching, but some certainly are. And some of the nationwide injunctions which have been passed verge on insanity.
One injunction asserted that the executive cannot pause or terminate fugitive admissions into to the United States and had accept hundreds of thousands of refugees – never mind the humanitarian or financial cost of the decision.
Thune: ‘I Don’t Want to See Taxes Go Up’

Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) said Friday on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” that he did not want to see taxes go up on anybody when asked about President Donald Trump’s comments on taxes.
On Truth Social Trump posted, “The problem with even a “TINY” tax increase for the RICH, which I and all others would graciously accept in order to help the lower and middle income workers, is that the Radical Left Democrat Lunatics would go around screaming,“Read my lips,” the fabled Quote by George Bush the Elder that is said to have cost him the Election. NO, Ross Perot cost him the Election! In any event, Republicans should probably not do it, but I’m OK if they do!!!”
Host Joe Kernen said, “The president wants to help, I think working class people look at the tariffs, look at all these things. The case could be made that maybe some redistribution or some movement on on who pays the lion’s share of taxes, maybe you could reallocate some. Is this the right way to do it?”
Thune said, “I don’t want to see taxes go up on anybody. We’re all about lowering taxes, not raising taxes. But I do think the president, he’s not a conventional president. People didn’t vote for a conventional president and I think his policies reflect that.”
Trump to build national center for homeless veterans with funds previously spent on housing for illegal aliens

Trump signed an executive order to establish the National Center for Warrior Independence on the Veterans Affairs campus in West Los Angeles
President Donald Trump on Friday signed an executive order to establish a national center for homeless veterans with redirected funds previously spent on services for illegal aliens, Fox News Digital has learned.
The president’s order directs the secretary of veterans affairs to establish the National Center for Warrior Independence on the Veterans Affairs campus in West Los Angeles.
Los Angeles has approximately 3,000 homeless veterans — more than any other city in the country, and accounting for about 10% of all homeless veterans in America, according to the White House.
Labor Department Admits Hundreds of Thousands of Biden Jobs Were Fake

The Biden administration claimed to have added almost 400,000 jobs from July through September of last year, but new data released this week suggest none of those jobs ever existed. Despite constantly gaslighting by the mainstream media, Americans knew the economy was in poor shape and these latest numbers prove it.
Month after month, the government bean-counters under former-president Biden published overly optimistic estimates for everything from job growth to the size of the economy, only to have those numbers routinely—and quietly—revised down later.
Every month, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) produces estimates for the number of nonfarm payrolls in the country, as well as revisions for the last two months’ estimates. Under Biden, these revisions were abnormal in magnitude and direction, being revised down with unusual frequency.
While these monthly job reports are compiled from a survey of over 600,000 businesses, of which fewer than 200,000 are surveyed each month. But the BLS also publishes much more comprehensive quarterly data called Business Employment Dynamics (BED) that come from a census of over 12 million businesses—that’s over 17 times the sample size of the monthly job reports’ survey.
Big Government Is Chaos: Trump’s 2026 Budget Is a Step Toward Sanity

Trump’s FY2026 budget slashes non-defense spending to 2017 levels, axes DEI and climate schemes, and declares war on Big Government’s chaos.
n May 2, President Trump’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) sent Congress his “topline discretionary budget request for fiscal year 2026 (FY 2026).” In its statement, the White House cut to the chase:
The Budget, which reduces non-defense discretionary by $163 billion or 23 percent from the 2025 enacted level, guts a weaponized deep state while providing historic increases for defense and border security. The Budget also provides support for air and rail safety as well as key infrastructure and our Nation’s veterans and law enforcement.
This is the lowest non-defense spending level since 2017. Savings come from eliminating radical diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and critical race theory (CRT) programs, Green New Scam funding, large swaths of the Federal Government weaponized against the American people, and moving programs that are better suited for States and localities to provide.
Vance and Rubio are auditioning daily for a 2028 audience of one

President Trump sparked what is likely to be a brutal battle for the 2028 Republican nomination during his May 4 interview on “Meet the Press.” After extinguishing his ongoing “third-term” tease, Trump name-checked the two leading candidates to succeed him: Vice President JD Vance (as expected) and Secretary of State Marco Rubio (very unexpected).
This week, questions about Rubio’s own birthright citizenship (neither of his parents was a citizen when he was born in Florida) generated headlines, so watch this developing issue.
Rubio, formerly a third-term U.S. senator from Florida, had been a critical rival of candidate Trump in the 2016 presidential primary. Rubio, whom Trump degradingly taunted as “Little Marco,” has suddenly morphed into powerful “Big Marco,” concurrently serving in four separate leadership positions: secretary of State, interim National Security Advisor, acting administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development and acting archivist for the National Archives and Records Administration.
Trump’s recent unleashing of a Vance vs. Rubio rivalry will effectively sustain media interest over the next three years. Once again, the president proves he is a master manipulator of the 24/7 news cycle.
Now, during any Trump-news lull, he can tease a Vance vs. Rubio “Truth Social” post about the state of their rivalry. He can also inject new possible successors, tease a potential 2028 endorsement or adopt the firm non-endorsement strategy of “let the MAGA primary voters decide.” This continues his reign as the all-powerful lame-duck kingmaker, while 2028 hopefuls kowtow for his favor.
The 2025 Social Media Ranking Of Free-Market Think Tanks

Several of the largest and most established think tanks advocating for free-market principles continue to lead across major social media platforms. The digital landscape, however, is dynamic, and a few newer organizations with credible voices, compelling messages and savvy media strategies are gaining influence, helping to advance the cause of a free society.
The rankings in this piece are based on the latest publicly available data and reflect my own assessments as a Forbes contributor—they are not official Forbes rankings. As always, I invite readers to alert me to any pro-free-society organization they believe deserves recognition for scoring better than those mentioned.
The most subjective aspect of this work is deciding which organizations truly support a free economy. Some (such as Brasil Paralelo, which produces films and videos) cover many topics that go beyond economics, but their programs are always aligned with messages favorable to a free society and free markets. Others appearing in my ranking, like CIDAC/México Evalúa, focus on measurement and policy evaluation, but their analyses usually conclude that solutions based on economic freedom and rule of law benefit society.
How Joe Biden Handed the Presidency to Donald Trump

President Joe Biden got out of bed the day after the 2024 election convinced that he had been wronged. The élites, the Democratic officials, the media, Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama—they shouldn’t have pushed him out of the race. If he had stayed in, he would have beaten Donald Trump. That’s what the polls suggested, he would say again and again.
His pollsters told us that no such polls existed. There was no credible data, they said, to support the notion that he would have won. All unspun information suggested it would have been a loss, likely a spectacular one, far worse than that suffered by his replacement as the Democratic nominee, Vice-President Kamala Harris.
The disconnect between Biden’s optimism and the unhappy reality of poll results was a constant throughout his Administration. Many insiders sensed that his inner circle shielded him from bad news. It’s also true that, for Biden to absorb those poll results, he would have had to face the biggest issue driving them: the public had concluded—long before most Democratic officials, media, and other “élites” had—that he was far too old to do the job.
“We got so screwed by Biden, as a party,” David Plouffe, who helped run the Harris campaign, told us. Plouffe had served as Senator Barack Obama’s Presidential campaign manager in 2008 and as a senior adviser to President Obama before largely retiring from politics in 2013. After Biden dropped out of the race, on July 21, 2024, Plouffe was drafted to help Harris in what he saw as a “rescue mission.” Harris, he said, was a “great soldier,” but the compressed hundred-and-seven-day race was “a fucking nightmare.”
“And it’s all Biden,” Plouffe said. By deciding to run for reelection and then waiting more than three weeks after the debate to bow out, Plouffe added, “He totally fucked us.”
The real issue wasn’t his age, per se. It was the clear limitations of his abilities, which got worse throughout his Presidency. What the public saw of his functioning was concerning. What was going on in private was worse. While Biden on a day-in, day-out basis could certainly make decisions and assert wisdom and act as President, there were several significant issues that complicated his Presidency: a limit to the hours in which he could reliably function and an increasing number of moments when he seemed to freeze up, lose his train of thought, forget the names of top aides, or momentarily not remember friends he’d known for decades. Not to mention impairments to his ability to communicate—ones unrelated to his lifelong stutter.
Embedded Chinese tech ‘could freeze cars and traffic lights’

The former head of MI6 has warned MPs that Chinese-made microchips in UK infrastructure could be exploited to cause blackouts and ‘immobilise London.’
China could switch off Britain’s traffic lights and “immobilise London” because its companies control so much crucial technology in the UK, MPs have been warned.
Sir Richard Dearlove, the former head of MI6, and Charles Parton, a veteran diplomat, said that Chinese companies dominate the industry of microchips that are embedded in technology — known as “the internet of things” (IoT).
These are devices in objects such as appliances and vehicles that transmit and receive information through computer networks, known as Chinese-made cellular IoT modules (CIMs).
They can be embedded in household items such as fridges, speakers and air fryers or physical infrastructure such as traffic light systems and electric cars in order to connect with other devices through the internet.
At an event in parliament hosted by the Coalition on Secure Technology, Dearlove and Parton warned MPs that these “gateways to computers” are everywhere and potentially can be accessed by their manufacturer at any time.
Thousands of Ukrainian civilians lost in hellish archipelago of Russian jails

Their plight is truly horrific. Ukraine has identified almost 16,000 names of people lost in a gulag of 180 prisons in Russian-held Ukraine and in Russia itself, as far away as Siberia.
In all the horrors of this war, the plight of thousands of civilians abducted by Russia is one of the worst, but is in danger of being overlooked.
Their fate is not mentioned for instance in Donald Trump’s peace plan currently being wrestled over, let alone any demands they are released by Russia.
But their plight is truly horrific. Ukraine has identified almost 16,000 names of people lost in a gulag of 180 prisons in Russian-held Ukraine and in Russia itself, as far away as Siberia.
It is a war crime to take civilians hostage during a conflict but that has not deterred Vladimir Putin’s regime.
Worse, there is abundant evidence they are being tortured, sexually abused and killed in custody.
Oleksandra Matviichuk, a Nobel Prize-winning Ukrainian human rights lawyer, said: “I interviewed hundreds of people who survived Russian captivity, men and women, mostly civilians, and they told me how they were beaten, raped, smashed into wooden boxes.
Have We Forgotten?

(Picture above) Elena Anuzis in Kaunas (Kovno), Lithuania with her newborn daughter Ausra Anuzis Klimas. They use the birth of a newborn for cover of bringing in “nannies” to move young Jewish girls out of the Jewish ghetto to safety.
Tolerance, respect, debate, and civil discourse have been replaced with violence, property destruction, and the repression of dissenting voices. Even worse, Jews are once again being targeted—on college campuses, street corners, and beyond—simply for being Jewish.
My parents and grandparents survived World War II in Lithuania and Germany. They were later recognized as “Righteous Among the Nations”—Gentiles who helped save Jews during the Holocaust.
I still remember speaking with my father on his deathbed after we had learned the details of their story. I asked him, “Why?” His response left a lasting impression: “We didn’t help them because they were Jews. We helped them because they were humans being wrongly persecuted—just because they were Jews.”
On a trip to Israel with now Ambassador Mike Huckabee, we visited Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum. Governor Huckabee had informed the staff there that I was part of his group. They located a son of a Holocaust survivor whom my parents had helped save. Alongside him, and as the Son of a Righteous, we laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame. Many other survivors gathered—some of whom had also withstood the Vilna and Kovno ghettos, from where my family helped young girls escape the Holocaust.
As I walked through the Garden of the Righteous with a family now living in Haifa—a family that would not exist were it not for mine—I could only wonder and pray: would my family and I have the same courage, fortitude, and character to help complete strangers…simply because it was the right thing to do?
